Working Groups

The proposed five standing working groups that will form the core operational units of the GICDP upon formal approval.

Working Groups (WGs) are the core units of Chapter operations and output delivery. Standing working groups are proposed to be established by the Steering Committee. Each working group will elect its own Chair, subject to formal ratification by the Steering Committee.

Technical Standards and Tools

Active — Seeking Members

Promotion of Content Credentials (C2PA) standards; objective evaluation of AI-generated content detection tools; collaborative open-source provenance technology R&D.

AI & Data Provenance Literacy

Active — Led by Dataninja

This working group has been proposed to focus specifically on the intersection of AI literacy and digital provenance. Dataninja (Italy) has volunteered to lead this group, bringing expertise from their award-winning "Open the Box" project and 5 EU-funded projects reaching 10,000 Italian youth.

Scope: Developing educational frameworks that combine AI awareness with hands-on digital provenance tools, targeting youth, educators, and media professionals across multiple languages and regions.

WG2 To Be Formed

Certification Framework Research

Research on technical information credibility certification frameworks; design of institutional evaluation systems; development of professional provenance competency standards.

WG3 To Be Formed

Media Literacy and Education

Digital provenance literacy curriculum development; teacher training models for schools and libraries; building multilingual educational resource repositories.

WG4 To Be Formed

Policy and Governance

Frontier digital governance policy research; research on cross-border data flows and digital trust sovereignty ethics.

WG5 To Be Formed

Membership and Regional Development

Recruitment and support of Global South members; regional node coordination; localization adaptation of leading tools and curricula.

How to Participate

Once the GICDP is formally approved, working groups will be the primary avenue for member engagement. Here is what to expect:

  1. 1 WG Formation: Standing WGs are established by the Steering Committee after the inaugural General Assembly.
  2. 2 Chair Election: Each WG elects its own Chair, subject to SC ratification.
  3. 3 Voluntary Participation: All members may voluntarily participate in one or more WGs based on their expertise and interest.
  4. 4 Annual Deliverables: Each WG submits an annual deliverables report to the SC for compilation into the Chapter Annual Update.
